Genetically elevated lipoprotein levels linked to MI risk
Genetically elevated levels of lipoprotein(a) are associated with an increased risk of MI, a meta-analysis of three large studies concludes. Published in JAMA the study concludes that final proof of causality still requires randomised clinical trials demonstrating reduced MI risk in response to lipoprotein(a)-lowering therapy.
